A mother has been thrown into mourning following the alleged gruesome murder of her daughter, who reportedly died at the hands of her husband.

Anita Mugweru was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband, Edwin Aunga Muthomi, at their home in St Mary’s Estate, Nakuru county.
The 29-year-old woman was reportedly killed after an argument escalated into violence, leaving her family shattered.
Anita’s mother was devastated upon learning of her daughter’s death when she visited the house, which had been turned into a crime scene.

Serah Mugweru opens up about Saturday’s plan
“We were to come on Saturday to resolve the dispute between Edwin and Anita. They had been living in constant conflict and had been arguing for a long time. Anita had asked her father and me to come so we could separate them.
Edwin had been troubling Anita for a while. She had been supporting him, but in return, he harassed and assaulted her. He took her money and belongings. There is nothing he did not do to Anita. I am in great pain,” said Serah Mugweru, appealing to the government to ensure justice for her daughter.
She said Anita was her third-born child and the breadwinner of the family, working as an accountant.
Serah noted that Anita was educating one of her siblings and supported the family in various projects and financial obligations.

“She was very good to us. She always stood with us in every project, whether building or paying school fees. She carried our family. Now we are in pain,” she cried.

Anita and Edwin had been married and lived together peacefully for some time until the situation reportedly changed.
No one expected Edwin to turn against his wife in such a manner, leaving the family struggling to come to terms with the tragic reality.
“Edwin used to threaten Anita. Many times she called me saying he had threatened to kill her. All I am asking is for the government to follow up on this case and ensure justice is served. What he has done to us is not something that will go away. It has hurt us forever,” the mother of four said.

Nakuru lady killed by husband
Still in Nakuru, another family was thrown into mourning after the death of their kin, who was also allegedly killed by her husband.
Mary Njoki Mburu was reportedly attacked and killed by her partner, who claimed he acted in self-defence during a similar altercation.
The 42-year-old left behind three young children, as her heartbroken sister narrated how she received the devastating news.
