Nigeria’s leading telecom operator, MTN Nigeria, has announced plans to compensate customers affected by recent service disruptions, following a directive from the industry regulator.
The move comes after the Nigerian Communications Commission ordered telecom providers to compensate subscribers in areas where quality-of-service standards were not met between November 2025 and January 2026.
In a statement released on Thursday, MTN Nigeria affirmed its commitment to complying with the directive, emphasizing that customers remain central to its operations.
“Our customers are the lifeblood of our business. Every subscriber deserves a reliable, high-quality network experience,” the company said.
The telecom giant confirmed that affected users will receive compensation in line with regulatory guidelines covering the impacted period.
Beyond compensation, MTN signaled a broader strategy focused on improving service delivery.

The company revealed plans to ramp up capital investment in infrastructure, including network upgrades, enhanced resilience against outages, and closer collaboration with tower partners to boost service reliability.
