What did the lecturer say about bringing babies to class?

In her Facebook post, she explained that being a lecturer is not just about teaching, but also about supporting students in humane ways.

“A few days ago, I was supervising a test for my final-year students when I noticed one student struggling. Apparently, her baby wouldn’t allow her to focus as he was disturbing her. Seeing the situation, I knew I had to step in. I collected the baby, rocked him gently, and ensured the student could continue writing,” she said.

The kind lecturer noted that education is about creating space for students to succeed, regardless of their circumstances.

Nan Bam:

“In my time, there was a lecturer of mine in 200 level. Whenever my baby (one of my twins) cried in her class, she would send us out, and I would remain outside until the end of her lecture. She would even use my situation in class and say, ‘We think coming to school is about rearing children.’”

Anyanwu Samuel:

“It happened during my first semester Masters in Physics at FUTMINNA, during Prof Uno’s class. I nearly cried when he carried the baby during his lecture, sat down and continued teaching. It was an amazing sight to behold, that’s humanity.”

Blessing Ayokunle:

“All I see is raw humanity and genuine passion, nothing forced, nothing fake. That’s rare. Life has a way of testing consistency, so I’m rooting to see you keep showing up, growing, and proving it wasn’t just a moment. Keep going, Princess.”
