Ayingba — The Law Students Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN), Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Ayingba Chapter, has announced prominent human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, as the guest speaker for its 2026 annual mentorship programme.
The event, themed “Thriving in the Courtroom and Beyond: Litigation, Politics and Academia,” is scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Faculty of Law of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Ayingba, Kogi State.
In a statement, the association said the programme is designed to equip law students with the knowledge, skills and mindset needed to navigate the legal profession, while also exploring opportunities beyond traditional courtroom practice.
The organisers noted that the event is expected to attract a wide range of participants, including judges, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, and other notable figures in the legal and public service sectors.
President of the association, Miss Omoniwa Omolola Bolutife, said Adeyanju’s selection was based on his contributions to legal advocacy, public service and human development.
“His remarkable excellence in advocacy, public service and human development makes him an ideal figure to guide and mentor the next generation of legal practitioners,” she said.
Bolutife described the invitation as a symbolic homecoming, referring to Adeyanju as “a son of the soil,” and expressed confidence that his presence would resonate strongly with students.
She added that the mentorship programme is part of LAWSAN’s broader efforts to shape the perspectives of law students and encourage them to build impactful, purpose-driven careers within and beyond the legal profession.
The event is expected to provide a platform for intellectual engagement, professional networking and practical insights into the intersections of litigation, politics and academia.
