It all began when a man named Gibson Nyakundi took to social media with serious allegations against her, claiming she had fabricated stories.
Nyakundi accused Ann of creating fake accounts, including ones falsely claiming her death, and that she fled back to Kenya while facing legal trouble in the US.
He further alleged that she had been intoxicated and posed a threat to his life, adding that police records existed to support his claims.
Ann Kioko refutes claims
But in a statement shared online, Ann painted a starkly different picture, one of distress, fear, and alleged abuse far from home.
“I have remained silent for some time, but I need to speak my truth,” she began, signalling the emotional weight behind her words.
According to her, she travelled to the US on March 20 after being invited by the man she trusted and with whom she says she was in a relationship.

Mike Sonko responds after backlash over claims girlfriend cheated on him
What she expected to be a safe and supportive environment, she claims, quickly turned into a traumatic experience marked by “abuse, violence, manipulation, and deep emotional pain.”
Ann Kioko’s accusations
She revealed that following one incident, she was taken to hospital and later sought refuge in temporary shelter before eventually returning to Kenya.
During that turbulent period, she alleges that the man gained access to her phone and social media accounts, some of which, she claims, still show login activity from New Jersey.
Ann also dismissed claims that she had been deported or was wanted by authorities in the US, insisting that such reports were “completely untrue” and part of a wider attempt to tarnish her name.
In a deeply personal revelation, she added that she is now carrying a pregnancy from the relationship, something she described as “an incredibly painful reality to process.”
“Right now, I am focused on healing, protecting my peace, and rebuilding my life,” she said. “I ask for kindness, prayers, and respect as I go through this difficult season.”
The conflicting accounts have left many observers uncertain about the truth behind the viral incident.
