Organisers of the public presentation of “Journalism NeXt: A Comprehensive Guide to Modern Journalism” have announced a lineup of prominent personalities expected at the event.
The book, written by TheNewsGuru (TNG) Editor, Ediri Oyibo, will be officially unveiled on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Utako, Abuja, at 2:00 p.m.
Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, is billed to attend as special guest of honour, while former Edo State Governor and ex-senator, Oserheimen Osunbor, will chair the occasion.
The book review will be handled by the Founder and Executive Director of the Make A Difference Initiative (MADI), Lemmy Ughegbe.
The event will also feature the presentation of research findings by the author, focusing on the state of journalism in Nigeria, particularly the challenges faced by journalists in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Other notable dignitaries expected to grace the event are Senator Ede Dafinone, Delta Central; Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, Delta South; Senator Ned Nwoko, Delta North; Rep. Benedict Etanabene, the member representing Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency, and Mr. Mideno Bayagbon, Publisher of TheNewsGuru (TNG).
Also expected are the Executive Secretary and CEO, Nigerian Press Council (NPC), Dr. Dili Ezughah, Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, and National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alhassan Abdul, among others.
The book examines the evolution of journalism in the digital age, covering areas such as media ethics, innovation, sustainability, and the changing role of journalists in today’s information landscape.
Organisers say the event is expected to attract journalists, media entrepreneurs, academics, policymakers, students, and members of the public, providing an avenue for engagement and networking.
