Eric Murphy, the son of Hollywood veteran comedian and actor Eddie Murphy, and Jasmin Lawrence, daughter of comedian and actor Martin Lawrence, have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Ari Skye.
The news was confirmed by Eddie Murphy during an interview with E! News at the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award ceremony held on Saturday, April 18.
According to the actor, the couple recently became parents, with the baby born about one to two weeks before the event.
“They just had a baby girl… They just had her two weeks ago, or a week ago. Yeah, Ari Skye,” Eddie Murphy said.
When asked whether he had any parenting advice for the new parents, the veteran actor declined, instead sharing his thoughts on parenting.
“Oh, you don’t give advice like that. Your kids don’t go by your advice. Your kids go by the example you set. They watch you,” he added.
