The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Friday joined the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, at the Ikeja Central Mosque for the observance of the weekly Juma’at prayers.

The special prayer session also marked the 10th year remembrance of the late Alhaji Rafiu Bakare Jafojo, a revered statesman who served Lagos State with distinction as Deputy Governor. Prayers were offered for the repose of his soul, with clerics highlighting his legacy of humility, integrity, and dedicated service to the people.



Comrade Dauda described the late Jafojo as a pillar of progressive politics in Lagos State whose contributions to governance and public service remain impactful years after his passing. He noted that the remembrance serves as a moment of reflection for current leaders to emulate the virtues of selfless leadership and commitment to public good.


The Council Chairman further emphasized that such spiritual and commemorative gatherings reinforce unity and shared values among leaders and citizens, reiterating Ikeja Local Government’s alignment with the broader vision of the Lagos State Government in fostering peace, development, and prosperity.
