The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Election Campaign Council for Ekiti State, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, has disclosed details of a strategic meeting held with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.
Bamidele said the meeting, which took place in company of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, was focused on briefing the President on the Council’s preparedness ahead of the 2026 Ekiti governorship election campaign.
According to him, the campaign structure is already putting final touches to its workplan ahead of the official commencement of activities in the coming days.
He stated that the Council remains committed to delivering a “resounding victory” for Governor Oyebanji in the election scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, adding that the target is to secure victory across all 177 wards in Ekiti State with no fewer than 500,000 votes.
Bamidele further expressed confidence that Oyebanji’s performance in office over the past three years would translate into electoral success, which he said would also strengthen support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
