How is Baby Tai?
Sonko also talked about Baby Tai, who watched her mum being stabbed and knew that she had been rushed to the hospital, and reported that the young one doesn’t realise her mum is dead yet.
“I was reminded that kids have a special kind of love, pure, innocent, and real. Just like Baby James yesterday, she ran straight to me, not knowing the pain surrounding her. Little does she understand that her mother, Anita, is no more; taken away in such a painful and cruel way,” he said.
“What hurts even more is that this tragedy happened right in front of her, a child too young to comprehend such horror. Since yesterday, she has kept asking me only one thing: Let’s go to the hospital, I want to see my mum. Those words cut deep, because in her heart, she still believes her mother is just unwell that she will see her again,” added Sonko.

Sonko reported that his heart was bleeding, as no child deserves that kind of pain, and he prayed that God protect Baby Tai and surround her with His love for a future filled with peace, strength, and hope, the kind her mother dreamt of for her.
“We will stand with her; we will support her, and she will not walk this journey alone. The devil is a liar; stay strong, Baby Tai… we are here for you,” he said.
How did Kenyans react to the story?
Sheila Wangi:
“This reminds me of my childhood atleast she’s surrounded by people who loves her unlike me. I came to find out that my mother was no more from my own uncle because he would threaten to beat me and tell me that I will follow my mother in her death those words cut deep my heart but they became normal to me because they were like daily bread and he felt happy when saying them to date have never healed i was just a kid then very innocent.”
Moses Gitonga:
“Jesus said, ‘ Let the little ones come to me. He also emphasised that we should have genuine love like them to see heaven! The devil is a liar! Imagine the trauma that man will live with for the rest of his life!”
