It was a gathering of top African leaders, policymakers, and private sector executives at the 2026 Face of Africa Leadership Award for Governance and Public Service Excellence, organised by Triangle International Magazine, held recently in London.
The list of awardees was headlined by prominent public figures, including Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande; Founder and Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, AfeBabalola (SAN, OFR); Governor of Lagos State, BabajideSanwo-Olu; Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Charles Soludo; Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma; Governor of Zamfara State, DaudaLawal; and Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone.
Other award recipients included the Group Managing Director of Sahara Group, Kola Adesina; public sector expert Lekan Ajisafe; insurance professional and philanthropist Aderonke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi; Group Managing Director of MOJEC International Holdings, Chantelle Abdul; Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Samuel Ogbuku; and Member of the House of Representatives, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, among others.
The prestigious ceremony aims to recognise outstanding contributions to governance, public service delivery, and socio-economic development across the continent.
Speaking on the awards, the Publisher, Otunba Salako, noted that the recognition is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and measurable impact within the past year. He added that the 2026 edition is particularly significant as it marks the 10th anniversary of Triangle International Magazine, featuring a special anniversary lecture and gala dinner attended by distinguished guests from across Africa and beyond.
The well-attended celebration brought together influential figures from various sectors and served as a platform to spotlight impactful leadership across the continent.
Since its inception, the Face of Africa Leadership Award has continued to celebrate outstanding Africans whose contributions have made significant impact across governance, business, and development sectors. Past honourees include globally respected figures such as Desmond Tutu, Ali Isa Pantami, and Emeka Anyaoku.
