Former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has officially revealed that his resignation from the Federal Executive Council was driven by his ambition to contest the 2027 gubernatorial election.
In a statement addressing supporters and party stakeholders, Adelabu said his decision to step down was necessary to fully commit to his political aspirations and serve his people more directly.
> “The reason for my resignation is to plead for the opportunity to represent our party as the guber candidate in the 2027 general election. God sees my heart, he sees my plan, he sees my resolve to serve humanity,” he stated.
Adelabu, who previously contested the governorship election in Oyo State, is expected to re-enter the race with renewed momentum as political activities ahead of 2027 gradually begin to take shape.
