The Presidency on Friday took a swipe at key opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, claiming there is deepening crisis within the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the party’s internal turmoil had worsened following fresh criticism of its recent convention by Nafiu Bala, an ousted member of the ADC.
Onanuga, in a post on X, cited remarks by Nafiu Bala, who described the convention led by David Mark as illegal.
According to him, the development further undermines the credibility of the exercise and deepens the leadership crisis within the party.
He also mocked opposition figures he described as “SPV renters,” including former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola, suggesting they have no stake in the party’s internal affairs.
Onanuga wrote: “Nafiu Bala Gombe just further trashed the ADC illegal elective convention. The ADC quagmire worsens. No pity for the SPV renters: Atiku, Obi, Aregbesola, Mark, Alhaji Kwankwaso.”
DAILY POST reports that ADC has been embroiled in a leadership dispute.
