1.8 Million Apply, Only 1.1 Million Advance: CDCFIB Recruitment Enters High-Stakes Screening Phase

A thorough update on the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board’s (CDCFIB) ongoing nationwide recruitment has been made public.

The board reports that 1,120,491 applications were successfully completed and processed, with candidates moving on to take the computer-based test (CBT).

Similarly, 360,923 applicants were rejected during the screening and shortlisting stage for not meeting the standards, while 432,935 applications were incomplete.

Over 1.8 million applications were submitted throughout Nigeria as a result of the exercise.

The Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Correctional Service are among the important organizations under the board that are hiring.

Additionally, CDCFIB released a national analysis of CBT scores that showed how candidates’ performance was distributed:

221,996 candidates scored between 0–40

229,155 candidates scored between 41–60

278,543 candidates scored between 61–80

142,697 candidates scored between 81–100

The recruitment process is set to move into its next phase, which will involve physical screening and document verification.

Official notices detailing the screening locations, dates, and necessary paperwork are anticipated for shortlisted individuals.

The board reaffirmed that there is no cost associated with the full recruiting process and advised candidates to rely solely on official outlets for information.

Additionally, it cautioned against false information and unofficial messaging, particularly in light of previous grievances regarding sporadic access to the recruitment platform.
