Linus Ifejirika, cryptocurrency entrepreneur, popularly known as Blord, has publicly aligned himself with activist Omoyele Sowore’s “revolution movement” shortly after regaining freedom from detention in Abuja.
Blord made the declaration in a video shared on Tuesday, where he spoke for the first time since his release from Kuje Prison.
In the footage, the businessman said he had never previously met or spoken with Sowore, but praised the former presidential candidate for stepping into his legal battle when he believed he was being unfairly treated.
“As a matter of fact, I have never met Omoyele Sowore in my life. I have never communicated, I have never called him on the phone, but when he heard that I was being intimidated, he had to step in,” he said.
Blord also claimed his bail hearing, initially scheduled for a later date, was brought forward after Sowore’s intervention.
He said he was heading to Anambra after his release but chose to stop and personally thank the activist before travelling.
“I am on my way to Anambra, my people are waiting for me, but I said even if I am going to miss my flight, I must come to Sowore to say thank you,” he added.
During the meeting, Blord said he was given a symbolic beret and welcomed into the “revolution team.”
“He gave me a gift, as you can see, he gave me a beret. I am among the revolution team now,” he said.
The movement is widely associated with Sowore’s #RevolutionNow campaign, which has repeatedly called for reforms, accountability and improved governance in Nigeria.
Blord was recently arraigned before the federal high court in Abuja on charges linked to alleged impersonation and forgery involving the image of social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
