President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, on his appointment to the Royal Victorian Order by King Charles III of the United Kingdom.
Edun was appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) by the British monarch in recognition of his long-standing contributions to the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, a global youth development programme.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award supports young people worldwide by helping them develop character, leadership skills, and a sense of civic responsibility. In Nigeria, thousands of youths are currently beneficiaries of the programme.
President Tinubu described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of Edun’s commitment to youth development and public service, noting that the award reflects his administration’s focus on empowering young people and fostering national renewal.
According to the President, Edun’s recognition aligns with the government’s broader agenda to expand opportunities for Nigerian youths and prepare them for leadership roles in society.
Tinubu also commended the minister for his dedication and service, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to investing in the development of young Nigerians as leaders of today and tomorrow.
