President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, on his birthday, which falls on Boxing Day.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the President’s Special Adviser on Strategy and Information, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Bagudu’s long-standing commitment to public service and nation-building, noting his contributions across legislative and executive roles.
Bagudu represented Kebbi Central in the Senate from 2009 to 2015, where he played a key role in policy development, particularly in budgeting and economic planning. He later served two terms as governor of Kebbi State, overseeing initiatives in agricultural transformation, industrialisation, and revenue mobilisation that helped position the state as a model for economic growth in the North-West.
President Tinubu described the minister as “a worthy associate,” highlighting his performance as governor and as former chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
“His hard work, dedication, and invaluable contributions as a member of our Renewed Hope Agenda Team, where he serves as Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, are remarkable,” the President said.
Tinubu wished Bagudu many more years of good health and continued service to the nation.
