Zamfara State, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, has reassured the good people of the state of its strong commitment to addressing the challenge of insecurity, particularly the menace of banditry that has affected communities across the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by the state Commissioner of Information, hon. Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa, saying insecurity remains a major concern that has disrupted livelihoods, slowed economic growth, and created fear among citizens.

The statement further revealed that, “However, Governor Dauda Lawal remains resolute, focused, and determined to confront these challenges head on through strategic measures and sustained engagement with all relevant stakeholders.

“The administration emphasizes that the protection of lives and property remains the top priority, and no effort will be spared in ensuring that Zamfara State becomes safe and secure for all residents.

“The Governor further assures citizens that his administration maintains a firm stance of zero tolerance against banditry and all forms of criminality. He reiterates clearly that there will be no compromise with bandits, as efforts continued to intensify towards restoring lasting peace across the state.

“On his political alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Dauda Lawal explains that this decision is guided by the overriding interest of the people of Zamfara State. It is a strategic move aimed at strengthening collaboration with the Federal Government in order to enhance security operations and accelerate development.

“He stresses that joining the APC will not in any way weaken his resolve to fight insecurity, rather, it provides an opportunity to deepen synergy with federal authorities, security agencies, and other partners in tackling the security challenges facing the state.

“Already, Zamfara State has begun strengthening collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies, leading to gradual progress in addressing insecurity in several affected areas. These efforts will continue to be expanded and intensified”, the statement has informed.

According to the statement, Governor Lawal reiterated his commitment to his earlier promise, stating: “I am still on my word there will be no compromise with bandits. My administration will continue to fight them with full determination until peace is restored.

“The administration calls on the people of Zamfara State to continue supporting these efforts by remaining united, law-abiding, and cooperative with security agencies, especially by providing credible information that will aid ongoing operations.

“Furthermore, His Excellency urges citizens to sustain prayers for peace, stability, and the success of ongoing efforts, noting that collective effort and divine intervention are essential in overcoming the current challenges.

“The Governor also underscores that achieving lasting security will pave the way for economic development, investment opportunities, and improved living conditions for all citizens of Zamfara State.

“Zamfara State appreciates the patience, resilience, and support of its people and assures them that, with sustained commitment and collaboration, the fight against insecurity will be won” the statement added.
