Calabar will come alive on April 11 as a major literary and cultural event unfolds with the unveiling of Grace in Action: The Legacy and Light of…, a new book chronicling the life of Bishop Eyoanwan Bassey Otu.
The event, scheduled to hold at Metropolitan Hotel, is expected to draw dignitaries, thought leaders and members of the public from across Cross River State and beyond.
Organisers said the ceremony will begin with a red carpet reception at 2:00pm, followed by the main unveiling at 3:00pm.
The book, authored by Magnus Oku, highlights the journey of Bishop Otu, tracing her roots from Creek Town to her role as First Lady, spiritual leader and humanitarian.
Oku, a writer, filmmaker and media content producer, described the project as more than a biography.
“This is not just a story. It is about preserving legacy and inspiring a generation to live with purpose,” he said.
The publication captures decades of service, faith and leadership, with a strong focus on women empowerment and community development.
According to the organisers, the unveiling will go beyond a formal ceremony, offering participants an opportunity to engage with key figures in government, ministry and the media.
“It is a celebration of impact, leadership and inspiration,” a member of the planning committee said.
Oku, known for his work under Artlife Media, has built a reputation for blending storytelling with cultural and social themes.
“With Grace in Action, we are presenting not just a book, but a movement that encourages intentional living and service,” he added.
Invitations have been extended to leaders, professionals, creatives and the general public to attend what has been described as a historic moment for the state.
As anticipation builds, organisers say the unveiling will spotlight a life defined by faith, service and transformative leadership.
