In a heart-wrenching Facebook post, Lidya promised to remain strong for their children despite the weight now resting on her shoulders.
The grieving widow’s words captured the pain of a young family suddenly thrust into life without a father and husband.
Chepkoech reiterated that she would try her best to be strong for the sake of their kids, as she knows all the responsibilities are now on her side.
“I won’t fail you. I know your spirit is with us wherever you are. I just have to accept that you are gone and gone forever, go well, love,” she wrote.
Who was Sportpesa Ronoh?
Sportpesa Ronoh was more than just a political supporter. He was one of MP Johana Ng’eno’s most trusted aides, the man behind the scenes who helped organise the legislator’s movements and constituency engagements.
A member of staff at the County Government of Narok in the Office of the Governor, Ronoh dedicated much of his free time to supporting Ng’eno’s work.
Friends say he was the link between the MP and the people, the reliable organiser who kept schedules running and doors open.
“When you asked Ngong for anything, be it his schedule, support, to meet him or anything, he would tell you to remind him through Sportpesa,” wrote Karen Chepkendy in tribute.
Before joining the county government, Ronoh worked as a teacher, a profession that reflected his patient and dependable nature.
Those who knew him say he could travel overnight simply to ensure Ng’eno’s meetings were properly arranged. But beyond politics and public service, he was first a family man.
As investigations into the crash continue, Chepkoech’s promise echoes the quiet courage of many widows left behind by sudden tragedy, a vow to raise their children, carry the burden and honour the memory of the man they loved.

How did Sportpesa Ronoh die?
Ronoh had accompanied Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno on a meet-the-people tour on Saturday, February 28, when their helicopter crashed, killing everyone on board.
Details indicate that the chopper, operated by Youth Aviation, had made an emergency landing only to crash shortly after take-off.
