Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obokun Local Government Area have outlined fresh steps aimed at deepening grassroots mobilisation as preparations gather pace for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The decisions were reached during a fortnightly meeting of the Obokun Leaders Forum held in Ilahun, Ward 3.
The forum provided party stakeholders the opportunity to review internal structures and campaign readiness across the LGA.
According to participants, discussions centred on strengthening unity within the party and consolidating support at ward and community levels ahead of the poll.
Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye stated during the meeting that reconciliation among party members remained a top priority.
“Our focus is to ensure that every tendency within the party feels included and carried along as we prepare for the governorship election,” Oyinlolye said.
He noted that restoring trust and rebuilding confidence where necessary would form the foundation of their mobilisation drive in the coming months.
Hon. Tunji Adesokun, a co-convener at the meeting, explained that rural engagement would receive renewed attention.
Adesokun said: “Communities at the grassroots must be actively involved.
“Political success begins from the wards and extends to every polling unit.”
The Forum resolved to broaden its outreach initiatives to ensure that all wards in Obokun LGA are fully integrated into the party’s activities.
It was gathered that members agreed on the need for continuous dialogue and consultation among stakeholders to prevent internal divisions that could weaken campaign efforts.
A party official at the session remarked: “Reconciliation is not a one-off exercise.
“It requires sustained effort, open communication and collective responsibility.”
Leaders also reiterated their commitment to building what they described as a disciplined and people-focused political structure capable of delivering results at the polls.
The meeting further reviewed mobilisation strategies designed to increase participation among party faithful and prospective supporters ahead of the 2026 contest.
At the close of the gathering, the Forum affirmed its readiness to work collectively towards securing victory for the party in Osun State, while maintaining stability within its ranks in Obokun Local Government Area.
