Super Eagles defender Bruno Onyemaechi has confirmed that he and his long-time partner, Inês Fontes, are expecting their first child.
The 26-year-old made the announcement on Saturday through a social media post, sharing a photo alongside Fontes that revealed her baby bump.
The post, published on his Instagram account (@onyemabruno70), quickly gained attention across Nigerian and Greek sports media.
Fontes, a Portuguese fashion model and influencer, has been in a relationship with Onyemaechi since 2022.
The couple began dating while Onyemaechi was playing for Boavista in Portugal, before his move to Greek side Olympiacos in early 2025.
The pregnancy news comes during a strong period in the defender’s career.
Onyemaechi recently won the Greek Super League and Greek Cup double with Olympiacos.
He also claimed a bronze medal with the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Fontes has regularly been seen supporting Onyemaechi at matches, celebrating his performances on the pitch.
Teammates and fans have since sent congratulatory messages to the couple, marking a significant personal milestone for the Nigeria international.
