Her singing, as beautiful as ever, was seemingly overshadowed by comments about her dress code during the event.

Following the criticism and concern from her fans, several Kenyans offered to dress her and even provide VIP transport to her next performance at Utalii Sports Ground.
They acknowledged her long-standing presence in gospel music, noting that she deserved to be celebrated and cared for like the legend she is.

Wairimu Kimani shared the good news on her Facebook page, highlighting the generosity of those who had reached out to help Mary.
“Okay, we have received a new dress for Season 4 on 25 July at the Utalii Sports Ground for Mama Mary Atieno from Martha Mwihaki Hinga-Untamed, and VIP transport by Pastor Israel Robert Burale to attend Season 4,” she stated.
Wairimu added that Mary had yet to confirm, but expressed hope that all would go smoothly. She also criticised the musician’s personal assistant for exposing her to undue online scrutiny.

“I will definitely be one of those donating clothes to my friend Mama Mary Atieno. I don’t know who her PA is, but they need to be fired immediately! This gospel musician is a national treasure! She’s dressed in oversized clothes, subjecting her to all manner of opinions. I want to visit her in July. Long live Mama Mary Atieno,” Wairimu added.

Mary, who is visually impaired, left many concerned about her well-being after appearing in a below-the-knee red flared dress, layered with a baggy, long black hoodie.
She completed the look with black boots as she delivered an electrifying performance upon being welcomed to the stage.
