Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johanna Ngeno tragically lost his life on Saturday, February 28, following a helicopter accident, plunging the entire nation into mourning.

The crash occurred in Chepkiep Forest in Mosop, Nandi County, and claimed the lives of six people, including his photographer, a teacher and the pilot.
The politician had been assessing damage caused by floods that had wreaked havoc in areas along the Mara River.
A video recorded aboard the helicopter later surfaced online, capturing those on board in high spirits before tragedy struck.

What did Johanna Ngeno say about the afterlife?
Following his death, Kenyans began revisiting some of his past speeches. One particular address has stood out, leaving many debating whether his words carried a deeper meaning.
In a resurfaced video taken while he was speaking to residents of Ololmasani ion Friday, February 27, Ngeno spoke at length about the afterlife.
Sounding almost like a preacher, he reflected on life beyond earth, explaining that, however enjoyable life may seem, there exists a far better place: heaven.
Seemingly drawing parallels with his bold political stance, he referenced Jesus in the Bible, noting that speaking truth often comes at a cost.
In his translated words:
“There is a place far better than this one we live in. Even Jesus lived in this world for 33 years, and He spoke about truths that eventually led to His death. Yet He said death was not the end, because He was going back home.”

He went on to emphasise that heaven must be real, arguing that Jesus would not have promised it if it did not exist.
“Jesus promised that He would return one day to take His people with Him. He said that if such a place did not exist, He would not have told them about it. In the same way, I am telling you that while this place is good and sweet, there is an even sweeter place than it. I have gone there and seen it myself. When I return, I will take you there so that where I am, you may also be. If that place did not exist, I would not tell you about it. I would not lie to you. But I assure you, there is a sweeter place.”

His remarks have since sparked mixed reactions online. Some Kenyans described the speech as chilling in light of his sudden death, suggesting it felt almost prophetic.
Others argued that he may have been speaking metaphorically, possibly alluding to aspirations of seeking a higher political seat after serving three consecutive terms as MP.

What was Johanna Ngeno’s last message to his friend?
In a related article, NgGossips reported that Ngeno’s close friend, GK Kechwo, shared the final message he received from the politician.
According to Kechwo, Ngeno had sent him a location where they were to meet before travelling together in the ill-fated helicopter.
However, Kechwo was delayed along the way and missed the flight by about five minutes.
