Six people perished in the fatal helicopter crash, among them the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngong Ngeno Ole Kisiara.
Many people visited the crash site for various reasons following the incident, including Narok county Deputy Governor Talaminye, who paid a visit.
“Deputy Governor of Narok county Talaminye visited the place where the chopper crashed and was handed Ngong’s watch and cap,” read a Facebook post.

Talaminye’s emotional look at crash site
He was accompanied by several men as they confronted the devastating reality of the tragedy that shook the nation.
Part of the wreckage remained on the ground as Talaminye stood near it while speaking with those present.
A cloud of grief hung over the group, especially Talaminye, as he examined the cap Johanna had been wearing, which was partially burned.
The black cap had a hole on one side, while the rest appeared relatively intact, as seen in the emotional photos that went viral.

Johanna’s friend narrates missing chopper
In another story, Johanna’s close friend recounted how he missed boarding the ill-fated chopper by just five minutes.
GK Kechwo, who was devastated by the news of his friend’s death, said he too might have perished were it not for an unexpected incident.
He was scheduled to be on the helicopter that day alongside Johanna and the other five victims, but his life was spared after the boda boda he was riding developed a puncture.

He had boarded the motorcycle in a hurry to join Johanna and the others for the flight, but was unable to make it in time.
Following the crash, he also shared a throwback photo of Johanna, highlighting their nearly two-decade-long friendship.
Johanna had once visited Kechwo at school, demonstrating support and care, a reflection of the kind of man he was and the humble life he lived before his tragic death.
