Fresh tension is brewing inside Nigeria’s opposition politics as Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Governors, has openly dismissed the political influence of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s camp, describing it as a “faction without real structure.”
Speaking during a televised interview on Arise News, Pearse did not hold back as he questioned the legitimacy of recent political moves linked to Wike, insisting that party authority must follow proper PDP structures and guidelines. His remarks have now stirred fresh debate about unity and control within the opposition party.
Pearse warned that anyone operating outside the official framework of the party cannot claim true political recognition, stressing that internal discipline and structure remain the backbone of any serious political organization in Nigeria.
He further stated that political strength comes from recognized institutions, adding that any so-called convention held without proper party backing carries no real weight in the eyes of the party structure.
The comments are already fueling reactions among political observers, as divisions within the PDP continue to attract national attention and raise questions about the party’s future direction.
