The political atmosphere in Lagos State is heating up as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Laja Adeoye, has vowed to end what he described as the long-standing dominance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. His statement has already sparked strong reactions across political circles in Nigeria’s commercial capital.
Adeoye said Lagosians are tired of the current political structure and are ready for what he called a “new beginning.” According to him, his ambition is driven by the desire to provide fresh leadership that will address key challenges affecting residents daily, including housing, unemployment, traffic congestion, and infrastructure gaps.
He explained that his campaign is building momentum through alliances with groups such as Lagos for Prosperity and the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), while also gaining support from youths, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders.
Adeoye further outlined a governance plan focused on education, healthcare, security, housing, and economic diversification. He also promised reforms in the civil service aimed at improving efficiency, training, and performance-based rewards.
According to him, Lagos under his leadership would become more business-friendly, attract foreign investment, and ensure that economic growth benefits all residents, not just a select few.
His declaration that he intends to “terminate the long reign of APC in Lagos” has added fresh intensity to early 2027 political discussions in the state.
