Their lawyer, Jack Scarola, says more than a dozen people have already come forward since news of the case became public, each wondering if they could be linked to the child.
“There are multiple families who believe that they might be genetically related to Shea,” Scarola said.
Some callers fear that the child they brought home through IVF may not be biologically theirs, while others believe Shea herself could be their missing biological daughter.
All have been advised that only genetic testing can provide certainty.
Court’s order to IVF clinic
The court has since directed the Fertility Center of Orlando, where Score underwent embryo implantation in April 2025, to offer free genetic testing to patients treated during that time.
The testing is now seen as the key to solving a mystery that could alter several families forever. For Score and Mills, the search is fraught with both hope and heartbreak.

They say they feel a moral obligation to find Shea’s biological parents, believing they deserve the truth and the chance to make their own decisions.

“They have bonded with their baby,” Scarola said. “They are experiencing the joy of parenting, but at the same time, they are worrying that Shea’s biological parents can be given custody at any time.”
