ABUJA – THE Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake has hailed President Bola Tinubu as he clocked 74 years in gallant way.
Alake in his congratulatory message signed by him said President Tinubu’s leadership had defined Nigeria’s destiny while acknowledging the pivotal role he played in the struggle for the actualization of the annulled June 12, 1993 elections, his transformative tenure as Governor of Lagos State.
He also added that President Tinubu achieved a historical feat by galvanizing the first successful merger of opposition parties that led to their landslide victory in 2015, ending the 16 year rule of the Peoples Democratic Party by defeating the incumbent President then, Dr Goodluck Jonathan.
He said: “For almost four decades, I have watched closely how your leadership has defined the course of our nation’s destiny.
“From your pivotal role in the struggle for the actualization of the annulled June 12, 1993 elections, to your transformative tenure as Governor of Lagos State, to galvanizing the first successful merger of opposition parties in our nation’s history. You have shown like a lodestar!
“Now as President, you are spearheading a renaissance, silently leading reforms, quite unprecedented in our nation’s history.”
He also noted that, “When the story of Nigeria’s democratic evolution is told, your name will stand etched as an indelible part of it — your footprints firmly engraved on the sands of time.
“On the occasion of your 74th birthday, may the Almighty continue to guide you and imbue you with the wisdom required to steer our country aright.
