Anger and frustration are boiling over in Nigeria as fresh criticism hits security agencies following the deadly attack in Jos, Plateau State. Watch It Happen.
Former lawmaker Dachung Bagos has raised serious alarm, revealing that even 24 hours after the killings, there has been no concrete operational response or arrest — a situation many Nigerians are calling unacceptable.
The shocking statement has triggered outrage, especially among citizens who feel abandoned in the face of rising insecurity.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Bagos did not hold back. He boldly stated that, to his knowledge, no one has been jailed or held responsible for the killings in Plateau State.
According to him, this lack of accountability is exactly why such attacks keep happening again and again.
He explained that eyewitnesses had already provided useful information — from the language spoken by the attackers to how they operated and even the routes they used to escape.
In his words, the attackers reportedly came on motorbikes, and their movements were clearly observed.
But despite all these details, Bagos expressed disappointment that security agencies have not come out with any clear operational update.
He said Nigerians are tired of hearing general or “political” statements.
What people want now, he stressed, are real actions — proof that security forces are tracking the attackers, tracing their movement, and actively working to arrest them.
Bagos also questioned why basic steps like forensic analysis and evidence tracking have not been publicly communicated.
According to him, by now, authorities should have traced bullet shells, mapped escape routes, and begun serious ground operations.
Instead, he said, there is silence.
A silence that is making many Nigerians feel unsafe.
He warned that the current situation shows serious gaps in the security system, describing it as “porous” — where attackers can strike and disappear without consequences.
As fear spreads and trust continues to drop, one painful question remains: Are Nigerians truly protected anymore?
