The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the office complex when completed would serve as the JAMB Zonal office in charge of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa.

Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the JAMB Registrar, while
performing the laying in the presence of Zulum, expressed the board’s appreciation to the people and government of Borno for the kind gesture.

Oloyede said that when the complex was fully constructed, would be exactly like the one in Kano State, which was one of the best CBT centres in the country.

According to him, “this is the first time a governor in the country will on his own determine to build a JAMB centre and an administrative offices in addition to the construction of CBT centre in each of the three Senatorial Districts in the state.

“The project will have over 500 sets of computers, and that 500 students will write their examination at once. Over 2,000 students would be attended to every day.

“The in-build registration units will equally provide an avenue for the Board to complete the entire registration and documentation of Borno applicants within two days time.

“Let me use this opportunity to commend Governor Babagana Zulum and his team for the good works which have touched all sectors, especially the education sector. I want to call on other governors to emulate the gesture,” Oloyede said.

Earlier, Zulum emphasised the need to prioritise educational development in the state, adding that his administration had approved  N667 million for the construction of JAMB  Administrative Block and N300 million for the CBT centre in Maiduguri alone.

The governor further promised to equip the centre with sets of computers worth over N200 million.
