President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining economic reforms, declaring that stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments is already yielding results and will drive further prosperity for Nigerians.
Speaking on Monday during a one-day official visit to Yola, the Adamawa State capital, the President stressed that unity across all tiers of government remains central to achieving macroeconomic stability and long-term national growth.
“That is the consequence of us working together, and we will achieve more macroeconomic successes. We will achieve more for this country. We are investing heavily in agriculture and human capital development. We must be able to feed ourselves, feed the country,” Tinubu said.
The President highlighted agriculture and human capital development as pillars of his administration’s reform agenda, noting that food security and education are critical to lifting millions out of poverty. He urged state governments to channel increased resources into education and poverty reduction initiatives to improve citizens’ livelihoods.
According to him, recent economic repositioning and policy adjustments have boosted allocations to states, enabling them to execute projects with direct socio-economic impact.
Tinubu commended Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri for effectively utilising federal allocations to deliver infrastructure and education projects across the state.
“I’ve seen a tremendous amount of renewal, commitment from you in investments in the education of our children, and I commend your vision and commitment to the development of Adamawa State,” the President said.
Projects commissioned during the visit included an eight-lane road with an underpass to ease mobility and stimulate commerce, a remodelled State High Court Complex aimed at strengthening justice delivery, and a model school—one of 21 built across the state’s local government areas.
