President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Pa Nathaniel Okoro, the pioneer Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, on his 95th birthday, praising his enduring contributions to Nigeriaās rail development.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Presidentās spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu celebrated Okoroās legacy in shaping the countryās railway infrastructure, describing his service as instrumental to the sectorās growth after independence.
Tinubu acknowledged the former railway chiefās visionary leadership, particularly his role in developing a 25-year master plan that laid the groundwork for standard-gauge rail lines and other modern structures within the industry.
The President also commended Okoro for his efforts in planning and facilitating rail transportation in post-independence Nigeria, noting that his work helped promote safety and efficiency in rail operations.
As the elder statesman marked his 95th birthday, Tinubu expressed gratitude for his service to the nation and prayed for continued good health and strength in the years ahead.
