Richmond Mensah, a nurse working in the United Kingdom (UK), passed away while taking a nap before starting his shift.
He was scheduled to work the night shift and decided to rest briefly so he could wake up feeling refreshed and ready for duty.
Sadly, when he closed his eyes, it was for the last time, as he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Richmond Mensah’s last words to wife
His wife, Maybel, spoke emotionally as she struggled to come to terms with the heartbreaking news and recounted her husband’s final moments.
“He said he was going to put his phone on charge. When I first went in, he was sleeping. Later, his alarm went off, and he wasn’t responding. That’s when I called 999,” she said.
The 33-year-old went to sleep at 4:30 pm and set his alarm for 5:45 pm, unaware that it would be his last day alive.
After Maybel called 999, paramedics arrived quickly and began resuscitation efforts before transporting him to the hospital.
When did Richmond Mensah move to UK?
Despite attempts to save him, he passed away shortly after arrival. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
Mensah, who left behind a wife and three young children, moved to the UK in 2023 from Ghana in search of better opportunities.
