A Nandi man detained in Myanmar has made an emotional appeal for help to return home while narrating how he was conned and lied to by an agent that he had landed a job opportunity in Malaysia.

The man, identified as Dennis Kosgei, who is currently held by authorities in Myanmar, narrated that an agent told him he had landed a job as a driver in Malaysia, and he was excited to travel to Asia for the green pastures.

In a video trending widely on TikTok, the man noted that he was instead taken to Myanmar, and since his arrival, he has undergone untold suffering and struggle that he did not anticipate.
Kosgei said he had to turn to the police as the place where he had found a job was raided, and his safety was jeopardised.
“I hail from Nandi county and currently, all I need is help to return home. I came here through an agent who scammed me. She told me I was reporting for work in Malaysia. I arrived in Malaysia, but then I was brought to Myanmar. I was supposed to be a driver, but I was scammed. I have gone through so many struggles, and I had to seek help from the police,” he said.
Many Kenyans were moved after watching Kosgei’s video, and they hope he will get the help that he needs to return home.

Kenyans stranded in Cambodia move to court
