A chilling CCTV footage has captured the puzzling moments after a 27-year-old Nairobi man was allegedly attacked by his girlfriend on the eve of Valentine’s Day a fortnight ago.

Steve Godia has been in the hospital since that fateful evening when his girlfriend turned against him and allegedly doused him with hot water, leaving him with 21% burns that consumed his entire face, neck, and part of his back.

Speaking to NgGossips, the victim’s sister, Brendah, narrated that after attacking him, the girlfriend, who is currently at large, allegedly stole from him and was captured leaving hastily on the residential building’s CCTV.

In the CCTV footage that she shared with NgGossips, the suspect was seen leaving the victim’s house after meting out the violence.

At first, a scream was heard, and it alerted the neighbours, who were seen opening their doors to check if all was well in the neighbourhood.
Steve’s next-door neighbour seemed to notice that something fishy was happening at his house, and when she saw the suspect leaving, she rushed back to her house.
The suspect was in a black dress, and she left his house at 9.48pm. Steve, who was shirtless and seemingly confused, stepped out with his burns visible.
More neighbours approached him, shocked by the sight of his injuries and were seen on the CCTV peeking into his house, in an attempt to understand what had transpired.
The victim tried to follow his girlfriend, but she had already disappeared.

“CCTV footage shows her opening the door and walking downstairs with a knife. The footage also shows my brother coming downstairs in a confused and distressed state, not knowing what to do because of the pain and shock. It has been a very traumatic experience for him and for us as a family. We are currently focused on his treatment and recovery,” Brendah told NgGossips.

Woman caught on CCTV attempting arson
In other news, a young woman was recently arrested after she was caught on CCTV attempting to burn down a church in Ghana.
The woman entered the church and went straight to the auditorium with a flammable liquid on her hands. She sprinkled it in church and then lit a match.
Luckily, the fire was extinguished before more harm could be done.
