Moi Comprehensive Principal finally shares last moments of Grace 8 boy who died in school

Nakuru, Kenya: Madam Caroline has come out and addressed the allegations against the Moi Comprehensive School after the death of a Grade Eight boy, identified as Moses Nyang’au, as a teacher was questioning them.

After Moses’s death, parents protested at Moi Comprehensive School as they deemed it mysterious; the police had to intervene to quell the situation as parents demanded answers while pushing the body of the boy on a metallic trolley to the school.

The incident happened on Monday, February 23, and it emerged that the school wanted to admit the boy to the hospital, but their request was declined as he was already dead.

What did Madam Caroline say?

Madam Caroline told journalists that a teacher identified as Madam Abigael noticed that some kids were outside, and she asked them to stand in front of the class and started questioning them; before she even reached the boy, he had already collapsed.

“The death was pronounced in school at 10:10 am,” she said.

“This is a sad situation that befell the school, and we are sorry for the loss and the family for whatever happened in the school,” she said.

The teacher took him to the nurse, but she was not there, and at the time, the deputy headteacher realised the boy was gasping for breath. Abigael rushed to notify Caroline.

“I took my vehicle and drove off, and we started acting; we called the father and mother, but the father wasn’t picking up, so we went look for the father. He is the one who supplies the school with sukumawiki. Before the doctor started to do what they wanted to do, they asked us to go get the OB with the father and mother, and they started questioning them and that is how it got 12pm,” said Caroline.

According to the pathologist, Moses died as a result of poor circulation of blood in his body. According to the doctor, the condition can be caused by extreme fear or a sudden change in the heart’s rhythm.

“We would not have wanted to hurt that child,” said Caroline.

Grade 10 boy sadly dies in school

In a different story, Machakos police started investigations into the tragic death of a Grade 10 student who sadly died after he was crushed by a school water bowser.

The boy was among those who were called to push a water bowser after it refused to self-ignite, and it eventually fell on the young man.

Advocate Ndegwa Njiru mourned the death while also explaining what happened to the boy. There was public outcry over increasing student fatalities in Kenyan schools.
