Maziku Elias fought back tears after his wife, Vaileth Juma, wrote a heartbreaking letter before walking out of their marriage.
The couple had been blessed with a daughter, whom Vaileth left behind with Maziku as she chose to move on with her life.

Maziku recounted the early days of his relationship with Vaileth, remembering how they met and fell in love before she unexpectedly changed her mind.

“We started our relationship in 2023. We were living together just fine. Then one day she called me and asked me to meet her at the government offices, specifically the local council. When I arrived, she handed over the child to me and said, ‘From today, I do not need the child. Take your child and I will start my life.’ She told me there was no issue between us. She gave me the baby and the letter. I do not know where she is,” he said.
Maziku said he still does not understand why his wife decided to leave him and their young daughter.
Since Vaileth left, Maziku has not spoken to her. He said all efforts to reach her have been futile, and none of his family members agreed to help him care for the child.
What does Maziku do for a living?
“I have no help right now. Even my relatives refused to assist me in taking care of my daughter. Only my neighbours help from time to time. I also wash clothes and clean toilets to earn some money,” the Tanzanian man said.

Maziku shared that he works hard to ensure his daughter has the best life possible, including access to education, good health and shelter.
He sent his wife an emotional message, pleading with her to return so they could raise their daughter together.
“I ask her to come back so we can take care of our child together. The pain I am going through right now is too much. The child is also suffering. If there is a mistake I made, I am sorry. Please forgive me,” he said.
