News of her death broke on Wednesday, February 4, after she reportedly struggled with a long-term illness. Her brother confirmed the heartbreaking loss.
Shortly after her passing was announced, an old video resurfaced in which Ajara recounted a painful chapter from her past.
Prior to her death, several Nollywood personalities, including Wumi Toriola, Mide Martins, Afeez Owo, and Ronke Oshodi Oke, had publicly appealed for financial assistance to support her medical needs. Her condition gained public attention after footage emerged of her in a hospital bed, connected to an oxygen mask, pleading for help.
In a 2024 interview with actress Bimpe Akintunde on the Wasila Coded podcast, Ajara revealed a traumatic experience that had left a lasting impact on her life. She explained that she had been assaulted by someone known to her extended family, which resulted in an unplanned pregnancy.
The actress shared that she delivered the child via caesarean section, but sadly, the situation ended in tragedy shortly afterward.
“I was sexually assaulted by a guy who was a friend to my aunty’s husband’s brother. I gave birth to the baby through CS, but he died on the third day,” she said during the emotional conversation.
