The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command, has officially received Commandant Bala Bodinga as the 15th Substantive State Commandant.

This is as the new Commandant said the state will never be a safe haven for criminals ad that anyone who chooses to sabotage government infrastructure or engage in criminal acts will face the full weight of the law.

In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC I Ayoola Shola on Monday, the deployment of Commandant Bodinga to Kwara State was approved by the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Audi, as part of ongoing strategic measures to strengthen operational effectiveness across State Commands nationwide.

Bodinga is a seasoned and highly decorated officer with vast operational and administrative experience. Over the years, he has held several strategic positions across the country, demonstrating exceptional leadership and professional competence.

He previously served as State Commandant in Kebbi, Jigawa and Kano State Commands, where he enhanced operational efficiency and strengthened internal security frameworks.

He also served as National Arm Commander, Special Forces, at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Sauka, Abuja, where he displayed remarkable tactical expertise and command capability at the national level.

Shortly after assuming office, Bodinga issued a firm warning to criminal elements, vandals, and economic saboteurs to stay away from Kwara State.

He stressed that under his leadership, the Command will not tolerate vandalism of critical national assets, illegal mining, pipeline vandalism, or any form of criminal activity.

Shola said, “Kwara State is not, and will never be, a safe haven for criminals. Anyone who chooses to sabotage government infrastructure or engage in criminal acts will face the full weight of the law. We are fully prepared both operationally and strategically to deal decisively with offenders.”

He reassured law-abiding residents of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure and the strengthening of intelligence-driven operations.

Bodinga further pledged to deepen collaboration with sister security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and other key stakeholders to enhance peace and security across Kwara State.

The Command has, therefore, urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to support ongoing efforts to combat crime.
