A CCTV camera captured the chilling moment in Kiambu county when a man nearly lost his life after being attacked by two individuals.

The man was guarding a local pub when two suspects allegedly broke into the entertainment joint late at night to steal goods.
As seen in the footage, the guard was resting his head on one of the tables near the entrance when the two men forced their way in.

Each of them had a torch that illuminated the pub after entry, as they found the guard stretching upon hearing the loud noise.

“Where will all the businessmen go? This robbery has been reported. This is my friend who was robbed on Monday at 3am in Githunguri town,” the caption read.
One man headed to the counter, opened a small door and began ransacking the pub, while the other kept watch over the guard.
When the guard attempted to stand up, he was struck with a torch and forced back to his seat, fearing for his life at around 3:20am.
Kiambu man takes away guard’s phone
The guard’s phone was taken, and he was moved to another seat outside the CCTV camera’s view.
The other suspect, who had broken the small door with a crowbar to access the counter, kept a close eye on both the guard and his accomplice as he planned his next move.
He briefly stepped out, leaving his colleague with the helpless guard, whose hands were reportedly tied after his phone was confiscated.

A few minutes later, another man entered and went straight behind the counter, where he took a metallic drum filled with alcohol.

It was small enough to carry easily to avoid dragging it and attracting attention.
He later returned and found his accomplice still keeping watch over the guard while searching for more alcohol.
While they were busy stealing, the guard seized an opportunity and ran outside screaming for help, making the alleged thieves nervous.
One of the suspects was reluctant to leave behind the large metallic drum of alcohol. Since he was alone, he was forced to drag it as it was heavy.

Criminals steal car in Thika
In a separate incident, CCTV footage showed how determined criminals followed a motorist and stole his car, which was parked outside a church.
The suspects were reportedly in a Toyota Fielder, which they used to survey the area before striking, unaware their movements were being recorded.
The vehicle owner said the car was a gift from his mother, and he was devastated and confused after it was stolen.
