- Kenyans from all walks of life can’t seem to stop praising the owner of Aljazera Hotel in Bungoma County after he graciously hosted young boys from St Mary’s Kibabi Boys High School for a whole night.
- The boys were on strike as they were protesting the transfer of their beloved principal, Ogeto, who they credit with how the school has grown in leaps and bounds as well as the great performance that they have been posting since he joined them.
- Some parents shared how they were stunned when their sons started sending them frantic text messages asking for fare to fare home in the middle of the night
- Some students did not even know where to start in solving the predicament, so they were just helpless in the town until they were helped by the owner of the hotel
Bungoma, Kenya: A hotelier with a heart of gold has won the melted hearts of many people after he welcomed striking St Mary’s Kibabii Boys High School to spend the night in his hotel, as they were stranded.

The boys began demonstrating late last night, after the transfer of their Chief Principal, Nicodemus Ogeto, who was recently appointed to head Goseta Boys High School.
Initially, it started as unrest and quickly escalated into a strike that prompted a strong response from the police. Police in Bungoma county had to lob tear gas to disperse students as tensions rose around the grounds of the school.
This is not the first time that students of St Mary’s Kibabii School are protesting leadership changes at the school.

Why did Aljazera Hotel owner help students?
When matters escalated in the school, the students were asked to leave in the middle of the night after expressing their desire for their rights. They were hoping the beloved principal would not leave.
In one of the videos shared online, some students are seen insisting that they will walk home, while others started asking their parents for help. In the end, some of the students were stranded while others got the attention of their parents.

Well-wishers rescue St Annes Girls students
In a previous story, Njeri Wa Migwi went to help St Anne’s Girls’ School students who were seemingly locked out at night after their photos went viral.
The well-wisher said that she was disappointed in the school’s administration for allegedly preventing the students from entering the premises
According to the activist, there were so many dangers that the girls faced as they lay right outside the gate.
