Patrick Modest Ndege has been forced to be both a father and a mother after his wife gave up on their relationship.
How much was Patrick earning?
The father of one said his wife walked away from their union due to financial challenges, alleging that Patrick could not fund her lifestyle or adequately care for their son.
Patrick had been struggling financially while working as a night guard, earning a minimum wage of KSh 7,500, which he said was not enough to cater to their various needs.

“She said she wanted someone with money, someone who could fund her lifestyle and other needs without struggling. My salary was not enough to cater for all the financial needs in the house and hers. She walked away, and even as she was leaving, she said she regretted meeting me and having a child with me. She claimed I had wasted her time,” Patrick shared.
Patrick claimed his wife preferred a soft life, going out and having fun, a lifestyle he could not afford to support as a night guard.
Patrick recounts going to work with son
He also noted at one point his wife hinted at being attracted to women, and depression, which puzzled him since they had a child together.
Life became even more unbearable when Patrick lost his job, and the little income he relied on to sustain his family was gone.
“I used to go with my son to work, but the arrangement hit a snag. It became impossible for me to take him to work at night. It was not long before I lost my job, and since then life has been tougher,” he added.
Patrick also recounted being abandoned by his father and later losing his mother, leaving him and his brother as each other’s only support system.
Jane Mugo, a relationship expert, told NgGossips that there was an increasing pressure in relationships with women giving unrealistic expectations.

“Some women have set the bar so high that their lovers are falling into depression, they lack self-esteem and feel inadequate. I am not saying they should settle for less, but make realistic goals. Some want people with unlimited money for shopping, hair, cars and vacations, among other things. Women can also work because they are too empowered as well, so they can ease the pressure on their men,” she advised.
