The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged to work with ranking legislators and newly elected members from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Governor Fubara said this in his congratulatory message to the newly-elected members of the House and his party, the APC.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday conducted elections to fill the two vacant seats in the Assembly.
While Ukalikpe Napoleon won the Ahoada East State Constituency II seat, Loolo Bulabari Henrietta secured victory in Khana State Constituency II.
Fubara described the victories as well-deserved, saying they reflected the confidence and trust reposed in the candidates by their constituents.
He said: “It is the beauty of democracy.
“When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes.
“I look forward to working with them and their colleagues in the Rivers State House of Assembly for the progress of our state.”
