For Omolola, Omolara, and Omotola Okueso, life began with an unexpected twist that left their mother struggling and their father shocked. The identical triplets, now 33, recently shared the story of their birth, revealing a mix of heartbreak and eventual joy.
Before the delivery, their mother visited the hospital for a routine scan. Doctors informed her she was expecting twins, a result her husband accepted without question.
But when she went into labor, three babies arrived instead of two. Overwhelmed, their father reportedly fled the home, leaving their mother alone to care for the newborns.
“She did not expect to have three babies, and our father could not believe it. He did not return home for three days,” Omolola recounted.
Their mother delivered naturally and was left exhausted, struggling to manage daily tasks while tending to three infants.
The situation escalated tensions at home, with the paternal grandmother confronting the father for abandoning his wife. Neighbors had to intervene to prevent a physical confrontation.
Despite the initial shock, the family eventually celebrated the triplets’ arrival. Friends and relatives rallied around the family, welcoming the three girls into the world. Interestingly, their mother’s pregnancy was not visibly large, making the triplets’ birth even more surprising.
Growing up, the triplets’ father struggled to tell them apart, while their mother always knew who was who. The sisters fondly recall playing pranks on him, wearing each other’s clothes and watching him try—and fail—to distinguish them.
Today, the sisters share a common goal: to build a school that nurtures young minds. Omotola, a mother of two, has taught for 13 years, while Omolara has a decade of teaching experience.
Their shared passion for education drives their dream of establishing a school to benefit future generations.
