Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission arrived late at the Durumi I Polling Unit in the Abuja Municipal Area Council during the Federal Capital Territory Area Council election.

Our correspondent observed that the officials did not get to the polling unit until about 11 a.m., despite a large number of voters already waiting at the venue.

Voting, however, commenced shortly after their arrival.

The Village Head of Durumi I, Yohanna Ishaku, expressed dissatisfaction over the delay, saying, “I hope the INEC officials will not say that by 2:30 p.m., they will leave here. It is not fair.”

The polling agent of the Social Democratic Party at the polling unit, Nkechi Chime expressed satisfaction with the voting process so far.
