A Christian social justice group, Credible Voice for Christ (CVC), says the current face-off in the Doris Ogala social media camp has vindicated Dr. Chris Okafor, the President and Founder of Grace Nation International Church.
The group also said revelations from the face-off have just exposed an orchestrated plan to destroy the personality of the pastor.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that controversy has continued to trail allegations by Ogala, who accused Pastor Okafor of breach of promise to marry her and sexual assault.
A serious fight on Thursday broke out in the camp of some suspected social media controversial content creators, led by Ogala, as some of them recanted and described their alleged “war” against Okafor as planned.
In a series of videos that had been trending online, Ogala, Ebere, and Ogevibes traded accusations of betrayal against each other on the Okafor allegation.
In a statement on Friday signed by its Spokesperson, Simeon Adulugba, the CVC stated that accusations in the videos showed masterminds of the Okafor controversy.
The group noted that while the issue might relate presently to Okafor, it had become a trend in which some innocent Nigerians were maligned on social media deliberately by some bloggers with the intention to either extort money or tarnish their image.
The statement said: “Pastor Okafor’s case is just one out of many.
“Even the government is not spared in the malicious unprovoked fabrications by bloggers, who want to trend or paid to destroy the image of others.
“We suggest that law enforcement agencies should take up this issue immediately and ensure that all those involved in the Okafor scam are prosecuted.”
The group reiterated the need to use the prosecution of actors in the well oiled social media scam of blackmailers and extortionists as a deterrent to others.
The CVC stated that it had been monitoring the situation ever since Ogala began dragging and blackmailing Okafor on social media and was ultimately shocked by the new twist.
“We knew from day one that something was not right in the whole saga,” it added.
