The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has congratulated Gianni Infantino on his 10-year tenure as President of FIFA, describing his leadership as outstanding.
In a statement published Thursday on its website and titled, “CAF congratulates Gianni Infantino on his outstanding 10-year leadership as FIFA President,” the continental body reflected on its relationship with world football’s governing authority over the past decade.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe praised Infantino’s stewardship.
Patrice Motsepe said: “CAF congratulates Gianni Infantino on the excellent leadership that he has provided as FIFA President over the past 10 years and for his enormous contribution to the development and growth of football throughout the world.”
He stressed the global reach of Infantino’s influence.Patrice Motsepe said: “African Football and world football have a loyal and trustworthy friend and partner in Gianni Infantino.
“CAF wishes him good health and everything of the best.”Infantino assumed office in February 2016 following the departure of Sepp Blatter.
He was re-elected by acclamation in June 2019 at the FIFA Congress in Paris for a second term.
CAF’s message positions his decade in office as one marked by growth and partnership between Africa and world football.
