Akuchukwu Aghazu, the Second Vice President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), has resigned her position and seat on the Board of the Federation with immediate effect, sportsnow.com.ng is reporting.
According to the credible news medium, the resignation was formally communicated in a letter she addressed to the AFN president and her colleagues.
Aghazu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, reaffirming her commitment to governance, transparency, and athlete-centred progress.
Following her resignation, she has been removed from the AFN’s official WhatsApp platform in line with administrative procedures.
According to sportsnow.com.ng, the National Sports Commission (NSC), which allegedly forced her to the AFN Board in June 2025, has also reportedly accepted her resignation.
