President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Dr Zacch Adedeji, on the occasion of his birthday, praising his leadership and contributions to revenue administration in the country.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended Adedeji for introducing reforms that have strengthened the operations of the 83-year-old revenue agency, including adopting global best practices, automating systems, and building staff capacity.
Tinubu disclosed that Adedeji’s leadership has played a key role in restructuring and aligning Nigeria’s revenue profile, noting that the NRS recorded a historic milestone by meeting its budget targets in the third quarter of 2025.
According to the President, the achievement helped stimulate economic activity and support national prosperity.
He also credited the NRS chairman with driving the adoption of the National Single Window, a federal digital platform designed to streamline import and export processes, improve transparency, and reduce cargo clearance time from about 21 days to one week.
Adedeji has previously held several public and private sector positions, including senior roles at Procter & Gamble, Commissioner of Finance in Oyo State, and Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council, where he established the National Sugar Institute.
He also served as Special Adviser to the President on Revenue before his appointment as Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in September 2023.
President Tinubu prayed for Adedeji’s continued good health, wisdom, and strength as he continues to serve the nation.
